Pastor Wayne Short was saved at the age of 11 and was baptized in a creek in Campbell County. KY.  Through the years, he battled with God and went astray. Eventually drawing close to God once again, he began preaching off and on in 2014. He became a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent before he left Mt. Zion.  While at Immanuel Baptist Church in Cold Spring, KY he had several ministries and learned a great deal by studying under Pastor Jeff Fain. It was not until the age of 70 that he knew the Good Lord was calling him to be a pastor. He returned to Mt. Zion Baptist Church and became the Associate Pastor in 2020. He was ordained in July, 31, 2021 and went on to become the pastor in August, 2022.
